Where does the money raised go?
Every dollar you raise helps ensure we are always here for those living with dementia.
We believe that everyone deserves to be themselves, to do the things that are important to them, to have freedom and safety, to belong and have meaning and most of all to see joy in their lives as much as they can until the end of their days.
Your contributions ensure we can continue to provide person-centred care, support and services, which include;
Respite houses that are safe places to turn to and spend time
Special programs that encourage belonging and joy
Raising awareness and reducing stigma by changing negative opinions many have about those living with dementia.
You can help us by participating in one of our Walk to Remember events. With your help, we will always be there for people who need us across Western Australia.
New for 2020 - The Virtual Walk to Remember is an opportunity for you to take part in Walk to Remember in your own time and at your own preferred location. We encourage you to raise funds, awareness and share your experience on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram using #walktoremember

MyCause and donations
What is MyCause? How do I use it?
MyCause is an online fundraising platform. Your fundraising page will be automatically set up when you register for the Walk to Remember.
You can share the link to your page with friends, family and colleagues so they can donate to you. Uploading a photo, setting a fundraising goal and writing a brief description explaining your reason for participating in the Walk to Remember is a great way of raising more funds.
How do I receive donations?
Once you have registered for the Walk to Remember and set up your fundraising page, you can then direct people to your unique supporter page URL where they can make a donation through the secure payment gateway using a credit card.
Are my personal details safe and secure?
Payments are processed using MyCause. By processing donations through this platform your credit card and personal details are encrypted using the latest industry standard SSL (Secure Socket Layer) 128 bit encryption technology before being sent over the internet.
Your credit card number is removed from the online server and is only stored on a separate secure server by the payment gateway provider.
What if people give me cash for donations
We have a downloadable form available for people to print in order to send through cash donations.
Once you have collected your cash, please send a cheque for the total cash donation amount and the completed above donation form to:
Alzheimer’s WA PO Box 1509 Subiaco, WA 6904
Offline donations will show on your page within 10 days of receipt. Once we have received and processed your donations we will update your profile page to show the cash donations made.
We will post out a receipt to the donor.
Please make cheques payable to: Alzheimer’s WA
Please do not send cash through the post.
When do I start asking for donations?
As soon as you have set up your MyCause fundraising page you can start asking your family, friends, colleagues and anyone you can think of to support you.
